Frequently Asked Questions
What does The 27th Collective do?:
We work with artists from all across the U.K to support them in achieving their creative endeavours, working towards an end of year December showcase for 2022, where we will exhibit their work.
We also support artists in the creative aspects of their work; whether this means putting them in contact with other creatives to help their artistic visions become a reality, sourcing and supplying materials for creative work where possible, and holding non-compulsory online meetings once a month to support members of the collective with things like constructive criticism, exercises and inspiration to combat artists block and just for the fun of it!
Where and When is the End of year December showcase for 2022?:
This year, our showcase will take place on the 2nd (4pm - 9pm) , 3rd (9am - 9pm) and 4th (9am - 4pm) of December at the AMP Gallery, 1 Acorn Parade, Peckham, SE15 2TZ.
What is the theme for the End of year December showcase for 2022?:
Rebirth and Reminiscence.
How much is it to join The 27th Collective?:
There is an annual fee of £10 per person. If the artist is operating from a financially disadvantaged position, we are willing to set up payment plans over a selected period of time for the artist to pay for their membership. Please email the27thcollective@gmail.com for more information.
Where is my money going if I pay towards the 27th Collective?:
Any and all money given to The 27th Collective goes solely towards assisting the artists within our group in attaining their goals; whether that means providing them with necessary materials to create their art, hiring out spaces for the exhibition of artwork, or promoting their art via online or printed materials that are distributed out into the public.
I’m not from London, but I’ve had an invite to be part of the collective, can I still join?:
Of course! You do not have to be from any specific location to be part of The 27th Collective, the only caveat being that our end of year December showcase for 2022 will be held in a venue in London, however it is up to you if you wish to attend this event in person or not.
I’m not from the U.K, can I join the collective?
Unfortunately, at this current point in time we are not able to financially support the transportation of artwork from artists in countries other than the U.K, however this is something we hope to be able to change in the coming years.
I haven’t been invited to be a part of the collective, can I still join?
For our first active year (2022) we are not taking on any artists who we do not personally know to be a part of The 27th Collective. This is in an effort to make sure that all members of the group are able to stick to our community guidelines and share our values in terms of championing voices from underrepresented groups. However, this is something we hope to be able to change in the coming years, so keep an eye on this space!
What do I have to do to be a part of the collective?:
Our only criteria is to be an artist who wants their work seen! Closer in time to the end of year December showcase for 2022, we’ll ask you to send us some pieces of your artwork that you want featured (don’t worry, we’ll pay for postage and packaging) and we’ll exhibit your art for you! It’s totally up to you whether you want to attend the end of year show, and whether you want your art to be put up for sale, all of which will be discussed on a personal basis once you join.
Other than that, we only ask that our members stick to our community guidelines to be a part of The 27th Collective.
